Fire Safety Training

Understanding how to correctly respond to a fire and follow workplace fire safety procedures is essential for everyone, regardless of your role within the company.
How to effectively
Use a Fire
Extinguisher:

Knowing how to operate a fire extinguisher is a vital part of fire safety training. In an emergency, quick and confident action can prevent a small fire from becoming uncontrollable. Before attempting to tackle any fire, always raise the alarm, ensure others are safe, and check that you have a clear escape route. Never take risks if the fire is spreading rapidly or producing heavy smoke—safety comes first.

The most effective way to remember how to use a fire extinguisher is the PASS technique:

  • P – Pull the safety pin to unlock the extinguisher.

  • A – Aim the nozzle at the base of the fire, not the flames.

  • S – Squeeze the handle to release the extinguishing agent.

  • S – Sweep the nozzle side to side, covering the area of the fire until it is out.

Stand around two metres away when operating, and move closer only if safe to do so. Once the fire appears extinguished, monitor the area carefully as it may reignite.

Regular fire safety training ensures that employees not only understand this process but also gain the confidence to act correctly under pressure.

Fire Safety Awareness Training

Fire safety training gives staff the confidence to act quickly and responsibly in an emergency. Practical sessions cover everything from recognising hazards to using extinguishers correctly, helping create safer workplaces for everyone. In Scotland, training is not only a legal requirement for many businesses but also an important way to protect lives and property.

By combining real-world examples with hands-on learning, fire safety sessions make procedures easy to remember and apply under pressure. This approach ensures teams are prepared, reducing risks and encouraging a culture where safety is always front of mind.

Fire Safety Awareness Training

At Lyncal, we believe effective fire safety training goes beyond theory — it’s about giving people the confidence to act when it matters most. A fire extinguisher is one of the simplest yet most powerful tools for controlling small fires, but only if it’s used correctly.

In training, we focus on hands-on practice so your team knows not only what to do, but also how it feels in a real scenario. We also cover vital safety checks, such as ensuring a clear escape route and knowing when to evacuate rather than attempt to fight the fire.

By choosing Lyncal, your staff gain more than fire extinguisher skills—they gain the knowledge and confidence to make fast, safe decisions in an emergency. That preparation could make all the difference.
